Tourism Achievement Award
The Annual Tourism Achievement Award is presented by the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau to celebrate the collaborative efforts of the local tourism industry while acknowledging the efforts of one particular individual who has shown great leadership through their commitment to tourism in the region[citation needed].

- 2010 - Gary O'Connell (Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau)
Charlottesville City Manager Gary O'Connell won the 2010 award for his efforts at supporting area tourism during the past 30 years. O'Connell served on the visitor's bureau board of directors, and among his achievements, he helped shape the Downtown Mall by constructing a movie theater, the Charlottesville Ice Park, and the Charlottesville Pavilion in addition to car crossings, new bricks, and Fridays After Five.[3]
