Biographical Information

Elizabeth K. Meyer is landscape architect, theorist, and critic. She joined the faculty at the University of Virginia School of Architecture in 1993. She is the Merrill D. Peterson Professor of Landscape Architecture. During her time at University of Virginia, Meyer has also served as Landscape Architecture Department Chair and Director of the Graduate Landscape Architecture Program. Before joining the University of Virginia faculty, Meyer taught at Harvard Graduate School of Design and Cornell University.[1] In June 2014, Meyer was appointed to a two-year term as dean of the UVA School of Architecture. She succeeded Kim Tanzer in this role. [2]

Meyer was succeeded by Ila Berman. [3]

Meyer was a member of the Emmet/Ivy Task Force appointed by President Jim Ryan to look at 14.5 acres of land on Ivy Road between Emmet Street and Copeley Road. [4]
