Dorothy Tompkins is a retired pediatrician who was honored by the Daily Progress in 2013 as part of the Distinguished Dozen series. [1]

Biography
Tompkins grew up in Louisa County and majored in biology at the College of William and Mary. She went to the University of Virginia for medical school. After retiring in 2007 she became a master gardener, master naturalist and tree steward.
