Cathcart Group is a family of companies that encompasses Cathcart Property Management, Cathcart Construction, and Cathcart Property Development. Cathcart Group focuses on property development, construction, and property management, of single-family, multi-family, and senior living properties. Cathcart Group is based in Charlottesville, with additional properties in Harrisonburg, Virginia and Scott Depot, West Virginia. [1] Cathcart Group is a member of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce[1].

History

The parent company of Cathcart Development, Cathcart Construction, and Cathcart Property Management and Senior Living, the Cathcart Group was founded in 1984 by Robert 'Rip' Cathcart. The company was formerly known as Cathcart Properties.[2] In 1992, Cathcart Group began developing large-scale residential developments. In 2010 the company named changed from Cathcart Properties to Cathcart Group.[3]

Projects

Cathcart Group has developed Lakeside Apartments, Carriage Hill Apartments, Claremont at Carriage Hill, and Reserve at Belvedere Apartments in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Reserve at Belvedere Apartments is part of the Belvedere neighborhood development.

Developments outside of Charlottesville include; Reserve at Stone Port and Bellaire at Stone Port in Harrisonburg, Virginia; Wexford Village at Devonshire, Townes at Devonshire and Bellaire at Devonshire in Scott Depot, West Virginia.

The Reserve at Stone Port Apartments in Harrisonburg is a 396-residence luxury apartment community off Port Republic Road.[4]

In Chesterfield County, a $49 million, 276-unit apartment development called The Reserve at Rivington is being proposed along the 6300 block of Rivington Drive in the county’s Bermuda District. [5]

The Reserve at Daleville is a planned 266-apartment complex just north of the Exit 150 interchange off Interstate 81. Cathcart plans to construct eight three-story buildings that will house the apartments on a 17-acre site at the end of Commons Parkway, a dead-end street that provides access to a shopping center off U.S. 220 that includes a Kroger grocery store. The complex will offer luxury apartments with amenities such as a clubhouse, swimming pool and fitness center. [6]
