The Yancey School Community Center is a community facility in Esmont owned by Albemarle County that was formerly Yancey Elementary School. It is set to open on March 9, 2019. [1]

CACF award
In 2019, Albemarle County was awarded a $300,000 Strengthening Systems grant from the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation to hire a program coordinator for the center. [2]
History
An exhibit on the Black education in the Esmont and southern Albemarle opened in the Yancey School Community Center in February 2021. [3]
Rentals
The building can be rented for $35 an hour.
The building opens for the occasional skating event. [4]
