William Richard Hill (1915 - 1996) was city businessman and a member of City Council in the mid-1950's. He was first elected in 1950 and re-elected in 1954. Hill resigned in 1957 - Louis L. Scribner was appointed to Council to fill the vacancy.[1]

Biography
Dr. Hill was the president of Hill and Irving Funeral Home. [2]
1950 election
Hill was nominated in the April 4, 1950 Democratic primary along with Gus K. Tebell. [2] The pair defeated Francis Fife who ran as an independent that year. [3]
1954 election
One of his elections was on June 8, 1954 and took office on September 1, 1954. [4]
1966 election
He was later an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Charlottesville City Council in the June 14, 1966 election.
