William McLeod Abell (1812-1864) was a Charlottesville native, Virginia Military Institute (VMI) alumni and Confederate soldier during the American Civil War. He was a Courier for Company I, 5th Virginia Cavalry. Abell Died September 26, 1864, of wound received the day before.
