Walker Webb was the son of William C. Webb and Virginia Walker Webb, a couple who were one of the first residents of the Belmont-Carlton neighborhood after they purchased a lot at what is now 1001 Belmont Avenue in 1894.
Oral History
Webb gave a long interview to historian James H. Buck Jr. that recalled his childhood in Belmont. He can remember a time when President Teddy Roosevelt traveled through the area on horseback, either to Monticello or to his retreat in southern Albemarle. [1]
