W. J. Parr & Co., c. 1916

In the early part of the 20th century William J. Parr and son Irving Parr were owners W. J. Parr & Co. - a wholesale company selling feed, groceries, poultry supplies, hay, grain, flour and meal.

On the night of April 12, 1917, policeman Meredith A. Thomas was shot and killed as he confronted one of two men who he caught stealing hams from the warehouse.
