The '''Virginia General Assembly''' is the legislature of the commonwealth. The General Assembly is a bicameral body consisting of a the [[Virginia House of Delegates]], the lower house, with 100 members, and the [[Senate of Virginia]], the upper house, with 40 members. Combined the General Assembly comprises 140 elected representatives from an equal amount of constituent districts across the commonwealth.
The House of Delegates is presided over by a Speaker of the House, while the Senate is presided over by the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.  The House and Senate each elect a clerk and sergeant-at-arms.

All or portions of House Districts 57, 58, and 59 are in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

The Virginia General Assembly is the legislature of the commonwealth. The General Assembly is a bicameral body consisting of a the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house, with 100 members, and the Senate of Virginia, the upper house, with 40 members. Combined the General Assembly comprises 140 elected representatives from an equal amount of constituent districts across the commonwealth.

The House of Delegates is presided over by a Speaker of the House, while the Senate is presided over by the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. The House and Senate each elect a clerk and sergeant-at-arms.
