Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB) was retained in 1997 by the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority to prepare a water usage demand analysis for Charlottesville-Albemarle. VHB also conducted work on the proposed Buck Mountain Reservoir.

VHB was also hired by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission as a consultant for the Regional Transit Authority.
