Thomas Olivier moved to Albemarle County in 1981 and is an expert on biodiversity. He is a member of Albemarle County's Natural Heritage Committee.
Olivier was chair of the Piedmont Group of the Sierra Club from December 2010 to December 2012 succeeding John Cruickshank.[1][2]
Olivier is a past member of the Board of Directors for the group Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population.[3][4]
