Thomas Olivier moved to Albemarle County in 1981 and is an expert on biodiversity. He is a member of Albemarle County's Natural Heritage Committee.
Olivier was named chair of the Piedmont Group of the Sierra Club in December 2010 succeeding John Cruickshank.[1]
He also serves on the Board of Directors for the group Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population[2].
