  • 1794Dr. Thomas Walker, a physician, planter and explorer in colonial Virginia who served multiple terms in the Virginia General Assembly, died at his Castle Hill home.
  • 1922 – The Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville holds a meeting at the Coffee Shop to hear about a need for an investment in education in both white and colored schools.
  • 1954 – Detective T. H. Adams said that not all the 37 cars reported stolen in Charlottesville so far this year - had actually been stolen. A few owners, he said, forgot where they parked their cars and believed them stolen.
  • 2006The Aviator statue is added to the Virginia Landmarks Register.
