- 2017 – Charlottesville City Council votes to remove Robert E. Lee Statue from Emancipation Park on 3-2 vote.
- 2020 – Sometime before dawn, an unsub took a metal crowbar to the brick sidewalk in the historic Court Square and absconded with a bronze plaque. “Slave Auction Block,” the plaque said. “On this site slaves were bought and sold.” The six-year-old monument had been sitting in front of Number Nothing (0 Court Square).
