This template is transcluded into the "On this day..." box of the Main Page, so that each day's listings are automatically displayed on the appropriate day. The events for each day are listed in their own sub-pages (e.g. {{On this day/January 1}}), which must be created manually from the contents of the article for that day (e.g. January 1).
When creating the "On this day" sub-pages, please include only the most notable 3-5 events.
