fact template

Do we have a {{citation}} or {{reference needed}} template? I tried searching for it without success? Seantubbs 13:44, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

I've seen {{fact}} used for individual facts, but agree we could use a template to refer to the whole page if it doesn't exist.

{{fact}} works for me. Thanks - I don't use the site on a regular enough basis to remember all the various tricks, but I'm hoping that will change after today.--Seantubbs 14:09, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

Can The McIntire Road Recycling Center Page Be Updated?

I'm a new/inexperienced editor (as probably will be immediately obvious), but I noticed that this page was last updated in January 2018, and a lot has happened in the recycling world since then (mostly bad). Please see, for example: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jun/21/us-plastic-recycling-landfills?CMP=share_btn_fb&fbclid=IwAR2i3U34MT7a7cG601--bua-pZ4r3GqiT7OydYrJm8F_4cTXKavD6eLF088 . Any chance that the originator of the page (or others familiar with the topic) could take on an update? Especially relevant now: what is the true ultimate fate of materials taken to the McIntire Road Recycling Center? Does it really get recycled, or does it end up in a landfill somewhere? Thanks. Of course, please update it! Just keep the tone neutral, and use whatever you can to tell the story the way you think it should be told. Do try to keep it as localized as possible, and there's all kinds of information that could be used. I'm here as a resource. --Seantubbs (talk) 11:58, 25 June 2019 (EDT)
I was afraid you'd say that! It's an effective way to keep people from suggesting updates to existing articles.  :-) I know nothing about the topic. Was hoping that whoever created the original article or another person already familiar with the topic might be willing to take it on. One Local (talk) 14:30, 25 June 2019 (EDT)
Also, please see: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jun/17/recycled-plastic-america-global-crisis . This already is a serious crisis, and only getting worse. One Local (talk) 15:14, 25 June 2019 (EDT)
I'll take it on. Do feel free to add national sources, and maybe me or others can localize. Keep pinging me on this page and I'll get to something by the end of the week. --Seantubbs (talk) 20:46, 25 June 2019 (EDT)
Thank you for agreeing to do this! Below, in no particular order, are links to a few relevant articles. The real question to be answered here, in my opinion, is whether items taken to the McIntire Recycling Center for recycling actually get recycled or do they ultimately end up in a landfill somewhere, whether in the US or elsewhere? If they end up in a landfill anyway, then well-intentioned efforts to recycle are for naught, amounting simply to "aspirational," "feel-good" recycling.

Thanks again for agreeing to take this on. One Local (talk) 20:50, 26 June 2019 (EDT)

I may outsource it. I am trying to get people to edit pages, and may use this as the basis for an exercise. So, stay tuned! --Seantubbs (talk) 10:22, 27 June 2019 (EDT)
Okay, I've made a couple changes to this page, as well as the Van der Linde Recycling page. Also need to make some to the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority page, too. --Seantubbs (talk) 14:59, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
Thank you; that's helpful. One Local (talk) 19:32, 29 June 2019 (EDT)
