The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) is a non-profit legal group specializing in environmental protection. It was founded in 1987 by attorney Rick Middleton and is headquartered in Charlottesville. In addition to Charlottesville, SELC has regional offices in Chapel Hill and Atlanta as well as satellite offices in Washington, DC, Richmond, Asheville, NC and Charleston, SC.
