Southern Development Homes

Southern Development Homes is a local Charlottesville homebuilder founded in 1999 by Frank Ballif. [1] Southern Development builds Earthcraft Certified "High Performance Homes" with a particular focus on durability and energy efficiency. [2]

Community Work

In 2008 Southern Development helped develop the regions largest recycling faclity. They currently send all of their construction waste to this facility.[10]

In 2009 Southern Development donated 1.5 acres of land to the City of Charlottesville to be added to Forest Hills Park. Mayor Dave Norris lauded the donation as "the largest increase in City park land since 1987," [11] increasing the size of the park by 20%.
