The Rockydale Quarry is a recently reopened quarry located on Earlysville Road operated by Rockydale Quarries of Roanoke. The quarry went dormant in 1975 but began operations again in August 2010, prompting an outcry from neighbors. The zoning category for the land allows for extraction of rock. [1]
