Rio Magisterial District

The Rio Magisterial District is one of Albemarle County's six Magisterial Districts, used for electoral representation. It is largely designated growth area, bordering Charlottesville to its south.


Elected officials

Board of Supervisors

Since 2010, Republican Rodney Thomas represents the district on the Board of Supervisors. His term ends in 2013. Elected in 2009, Thomas defeated Democrat David Slutzky, who represented the district from 2006.

School board

Pam Moynihan has represented the district on the School Board, winning three elections since 2002. Her term ends in 2013.
