RideShare provides citizens residing within the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission and the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission with information on how to commute without relying on a single occupancy vehicle. The service is also the lead regional agency for issues related to transportation demand management (TDM). The service began in the 1980's and works to provide matches between people looking to carpool.
