Ramsay is a historic 78-acre estate in Greenwood. It is on the Albemarle County Landmark Registry of the National Register of Historic Places.

Background
Ramsay was built in 1895 by William H. Langhorne. Today it consists of a 5,300-square-foot main house, a detached garage, a farm house, a guest cottage, a studio and other support buildings. The current owner, Harry Lankenau, has put the property on the market. Concierge Auctions held an absolute auction on October 19, 2012. [1] The winning bidder was not immediately identified, nor was the final sale price. [2]
The estate is named after an 18th century British settler who had received a land patent for the property.
In 1937, Irene Langhorne Gibson hired architect Milton Grigg to make major renovations to the house. [3]
