Portal:Infrastructure
Infrastructure refers to the physical improvements made in a community, including roads, schools, sidewalks, parks, as well as water and sewer service. They can be built by public or private entities. Planning for projects often takes multiple years and conversations about individual initiatives can become large items of debate.
In Virginia, planning takes place at the federal, state and local level. Different areas require different levels of federal and state input. The majority of funding for transportation projects comes from federal and state levels.
