The Planning Study of West Main Corridor addresses improvements that might be made to make West Main Street, the 1.23 mile long corridor between the University of Virginia and downtown Charlottesville safer for cyclists and pedestrians.

A streetcar or bus rapid transit system may or may not be involved in this study, which is listed on the MPO's Transportation Improvement Program as an illustrative transportation project, which means state or federal funding is not likely to occur for the foreseeable future[1].
