In January 2017, Charlottesville's City Manager Maurice Jones named Mr. Oberdorfer as Director of Public Works[2] Oberdorfer replaced Judith Mueller, who retired after 31 years with the City. Ms. Mueller’s announced final day was February 17, 2017.
