In 2016, the county discussed the idea of creating a specialized Montpelier zoning district of about 2,000 acres that would allow for more agri-tourism events and would bring certain uses at Montpelier up to code. The idea was dropped in January 2017. [2]
A portion of Albemarle County's Preddy Creek Park is within Orange County. On September 11, 2018, the Board of Supervisors will consider a special use permit to allow it to open. [3]
