The Old Mills Trail is a greenway trail along Albemarle County's side of the Rivanna River with an ultimate goal of stretching from the North Fork to Fluvanna County. As it is built, county officials are hoping that the history of Thomas Jefferson's commercial interest in the river can be fully explored. [1]

First section opened in fall 2012

Albemarle County opened up a three-mile section of the trail that connects Darden-Towe with the Martha Jefferson Hospital on Pantops. [2] The section includes three footbridges. [3]
