Nolan Stout is the Charlottesville reporter for the Daily Progress. Stout started in October 2018.

Stout previously worked as the Rockingham County reporter for the Daily News-Record in Harrisonburg from September 2015 to September 2018.

He is a North Carolina native and graduated from High Point University with degrees in communications and history in 2015.

In college, Stout worked at YES! Weekly, a alternative publication in Greensboro, North Carolina; the High Point Enterprise; ACCSports.com; the Chatham News, a weekly newspaper in Siler City, North Carolina.; and the Campus Chronicle, High Point University's student newspaper.

On Sept. 26, 2018, he was honored by the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors for his coverage over the past three years.[1]
