Navarre Bartz

Navarre Bartz won election to the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District in 2019 to represent the city of Charlottesville as a write-in candidate. He won with 94 votes. He succeeded Kim Tingley in the seat.[1]

Biography

Bartz received a bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2009, as well as a master's degree in materials science and engineering from Virginia Tech in 2013. As a student, Bartz had a particular interest in the interaction of electrochemistry with energy storage and water distribution systems. In 2013, he founded PacMül LLC alongside DeAnthony Pierce and Benjamin Fitzgerald. The goal of this trademark was to minimize confrontations between patrons and courthouse security in Virginia courthouses by providing convenient cellphone storage for visitors. In 2018, Bartz founded Cville Makes, an organization dedicated to working with community partners in the Charlottesville area to launch a Tool Library and bring people with a passion for creating and repairing objects together.[2]

Election 2019

Bartz created a website to organize people to vote for him as an advocate for sequestering carbon through soil management as well as removing pavement.
