Earlysville resident Marty Whitlow is a recipient of the Daily Progress Distinguished Dozen for 2012. After a bout with cancer, she retired as a kindergarten teacher at Broadus Wood Elementary School to focus on volunteering at the Emily Couric Cancer Center. Whitlow has raised over $70,000 for her ovarian cancer research fund. [1]
