Maker Education Initiative

The Maker Education Initiative is a California-based non-profit organization aimed at providing opportunities for young people to develop skills in science, math, engineering and technology. MEI does this by promoting a make-to-learn philosophy[1].

In Albemarle

In 2013, MEI selected Albemarle as 1 of 20 sites nationally to host a Maker Academy. Academies were hosted at Stony Point Elementary School, Scottsville Elementary School, and Red Hill Elementary School[2].
