The Local Climate Action Planning Process (LCAPP) is a joint city-county-University initiative to coordinate policies to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted from government buildings.
The initiative was reaffirmed by Albemarle County in September 2017. [1]

Timeline
- 2016 – Charlottesville conducts a greenhouse gas emissions inventory [citation needed]
- July 1, 2019 – Charlottesville City Council adopts goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45 percent by the year 2030 [2]
