Dr. Lizbeth Palmer won election to the Albemarle Board of Supervisors on November 5, 2013, defeating incumbent Duane Snow. [2] [3]


Biography

Palmer serves on the Board of Directors of the Albemarle County Service Authorityand represented the Authority on the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir Stewardship Task Force from 2008 to 2009. She also served on the Ivy Creek Foundation Board of Directors from 2004 to 2010. Liz Palmer has been involved in Rivanna watershed issues for many years as a member of the League of Women Voters Natural Resource Committee. Palmer will be the citizen representative for Albemarle County on the Rivanna River Basin Commission until 2013.

She has been a practicing small animal veterinarian for 30 years. She presently owns and operates Charlottesville End of Life Pet Care, a business that provides in home hospice care for companion animals.

Palmer was originally appointed by former Supervisor Sally Thomas during 2006-2009 to the ACSA Board, but Supervisor Duane Snow opted to select Marvin Hilton instead for a term beginning in 2010. When Hilton died in 2010, Palmer was reappointed.
