Letitia Shelton is the Deputy City Manager and Chief Operating Office for the city of Charlottesville. She was named to that position in late July 2019 by City Manager Tarron Richardson. [1] She had worked with Richardson in his last job as city manager of DeSoto, Texas.

After the departure of interim Deputy City Manager Leslie Beauregard, Shelton took over Beauregard's duties.[2]

Concern over her hiring without community input prompted Council to consider a charter amendment to require more oversight in the future. The council chose not to make that decision. [3]
