Letitia Shelton is the Deputy City Manager and Chief Operating Office for the city of Charlottesville. She was named to that position in late July 2019 by City Manager Tarron Richardson. [1] She had worked with Richardson in his last job as city manager of De Soto, Texas.

Concern over her hiring without community input prompted Council to consider a charter amendment to require more oversight in the future. [2]
