Julian Taliaferro
Democrat Julian Taliaferro was elected to the Charlottesville City Council on May 2, 2006 for a term that will expire on December 31, 2009. He is a former chief of the Charlottesville Fire Department.
Biography
Julian Taliaferro retired in 2005 from the Charlottesville Fire Department after 43 years of service. He served as Fire Chief for almost thirty four of those years. Hie fire service career was interrupted in 1966 when he entered the U.S. Army and was sent overseas to Viet Nam. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals for action in the Tet Offensive during 1968.
He has been a resident of Charlottesville since 1962. He is married to Patricia Taliaferro and has two grown children.[1]

AAS Degree Business Management, Piedmont Community College; AAS Degree Fire Science, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College; Graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program, National Fire Academy.
