Projects conceived by the panel did not qualify for Smart Scale in the 3rd round. Charlottesville has applied for a VDOT Revenue Sharing Grant for a turn lane extension at Hydraulic Road and U.S. 250. This will require a local match of $150,000 in the FY2021 Capital Improvement Program. [1]
However, the preliminary recommendations from the fourth round of Smart Scale recommended $5.73 million in funding for a $24 million project to make improvements around the intersection of U.S. 29 and Hydraulic Road. The rest of the funding is leftover from the Route 29 Solutions projects. [2]
