House District 54

Virginia House of Delegates District 54 elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature.

Note: All House districts were renumbered in 2021. This means past versions of HD57 are unrelated to the current (2023) boundaries. From June 30, 2011 to March 31, 2023 the 54th Virginia House of Representatives District encompassed Spotsylvania County and Caroline County, Virginia. District 54 has been represented by Republican Bobby Orrock since 1990.

District Description (2023)

Term & qualifications

Members of the Virginia House of Delegates serve two-year terms and are not subject to term limits. Virginia legislators assume office the second Wednesday in January after the election. Delegates must be at least 21 years of age at the time of the election, residents of the district they represent, and qualified to vote for members of the Virginia General Assembly.
