Herbert Chermside Pollock (1913 - 2020) was named as a Rhodes Scholar to Oxford University on January 8, 1934. He was the son of a couple who in 1934 lived in the Meadowbrook Hills section of Charlottesville. [1]

Biography
Pollock was born on June 13, 1913 in Staunton and graduated high school from Morristown, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1933.
He had a distinguished career as a physicist who was instrumental in early research into nuclear energy. He died on November 24, 2000. [2]
