Henry Addison Haden was Albemarle County Executive from January 1, 1934 to June 11, 1945.[2] He also served one term on the Charlottesville City Council. [3]

Biography

Henry Addison Haden was born in Crozet, Virginia on October 5, 1896. In February 1942, Haden was on the Civilian Defense Council and was the first person to donate to an emergency bloodbank opened at the University of Virginia hospital. [4]

1948 election

Haden was a Democratic candidate for City Council in the April 6, 1948 primary. [5] He made his announcement after Charles P. Nash and J. Emmett Gleason announced they would not seek re-election. [6] Haden received the second-highest number of votes. [7] [8]

Later life

In 1961, Haden was president of National Bank and Trust. He was also elected president of the board that ran the birthplace of Thomas Jefferson. [9]
