The Greater Charlottesville Area Development Corporation is a non-profit organization that seeks to expand the number of jobs in the area in order to help create wealth to help people out of poverty. [1] It was created by the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The Orange Dot Project

In September 2011, the group presented a report by The Orange Dot Project called A Declaration of Independence: Family Self-Sufficiency in Charlottesville, Virginia that found that 1 out of 5 families living in the city of Charlottesville live in poverty and have a hard time making ends meet. One of their proposals to solve the issue is to create a job center to help spur small business development in the city. Another is the creation of a light manufacturing facility.[2]
