Gordon Walker is the current executive director of the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. He will leave the position sometime in 2012[citation needed].

Walker is a former member of the Albemarle County School Board, elected in 2001 to represent the Samuel Miller Magisterial District. He served one term on the School Board (2002-2005), and as its Chairman during 2005.
