Frank Cox was president of Cox Company, an urban planning, civil engineering and development advisory firm that specialized in both public and private sector consulting. He also has been a lecturer at the University of Virginia's School of Architecture.

Cox was also one of the initial directors of Albemarle First Bank. [1]
