The City of Charlottesville has a franchise agreement with Comcast, the local CableTV provider. As part for this agreement, City residents pay $0.35 per month into a Public Education Government (PEG) fund to support local access TV. [1]

The City of Charlottesville broadcasts public meetings of City Council, the Planning Commission and the School Board on Public Access TV.

Albemarle County does not have a franchise agreement and thus does not have access to Cable TV stations. Meetings of the Board of Supervisors are not televised.
