Charlottesville has a franchise agreement with Comcast, the local cable television provider. As part for this agreement, city residents pay $0.35 per month into a Public Education Government (PEG) fund to support local access TV. [1]
Charlottesville broadcasts public meetings of City Council, the Planning Commission and the School Board on Public Access TV.
Albemarle County does not have a franchise agreement and thus does not have access to cable TV stations. Meetings of the Board of Supervisors are not televised.
