Fontaine Avenue is the name given to the two-lane road that runs from US 29 to the corner of Jefferson Park Avenue and Jefferson Park Avenue Extended.
In 2003, several people attended City Council meetings to protest a widening of the road[1]. At Council's meeting on May 19, 2003, neighborhood resident Kevin Kotlarski presented a petition against the project with 399 signatures<ref>Charlottesville City Council Minutes. 19 May 2003.
