Deaths
- 1972 – Burnett Watson dies in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He served as a corporal in World War I and had his portrait photograph prominently included within the Holsinger Studio Collection.
- 1984 – Anna Anderson Manahan dies of pneumonia at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Generally believed to have in actuality been a displaced Polish factory worker named Franziska Schanzkowska, Manahan claimed her true identity to be that of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov of Russia throughout her time in Charlottesville.
- 2000 – The process to update the Charlottesville Comprehensive Plan began with a community-wide kick-off event. [1]
- 2013 – Martha S. Carpenter, taught radio astronomy at University of Virginia from 1968 to 1985 [2]
