Emily Kilroy is the director of communications and community engagement for Albemarle County, having been named to the post in September 2018 by county executive Jeffrey Richardson. [1]

Biography

Kilroy started work for the county in 2014 and was Community Engagement Coordinator before becoming the new director. In the CEC position, she helped with the Route 29 Solutions project, the Neighborhood Improvement Funding Initiative and the Yancey School transition. She also helped the county grow the Community Advisory Committee program from three to seven active groups. Kilroy earned a Master of Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development from American University.
