Douglas Walker became interim Albemarle County executive following the resignation of Tom Foley. [1] Walker had been deputy county executive.
He was named as as Assistant County Executive for Community Services on April 1, 2013. He replaced Bryan Elliott, who retired in late 2012. [2]

Biography
Prior to being named to his Albemarle post, Walker was county administrator in Shenandoah County and has also served as city manager in Waynesboro. [2]
